Victoria Falls is a small Zimbabwean town wrapped around one of the natural wonders of the world, where the Zambezi River crashes over a mile-wide cliff in a roar of spray. When to go
For the fullest, most thunderous flow, visit from February to May just after the rains. The dry months from June to October bring clearer views, lower water, and the chance to swim near Devil's Pool at the lip of the falls. October is hot before the rains, so plan around the heat.
Getting there from Montreal
There is no nonstop from eastern Canada, so plan an overnight Atlantic crossing and at least two connections. Typical routings go through a European hub such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, or Istanbul, or a Gulf hub like Doha or Dubai, into Johannesburg, then a short flight to Victoria Falls.
