Zanzibar is the fabled spice island off the coast of Tanzania, where turquoise water laps powder-white beaches and the maze of Stone Town hums with a thousand years of Swahili, Arab, and Indian trade. When to go
The long dry season, from June to October, brings sunny, breezy days that are ideal for beaches and diving, and a shorter dry spell falls between December and February. The heaviest rains come in April and May, when many smaller lodges close.
Getting there from Montreal
