The currency is the US dollar and English is the official language. There is no public transit to speak of and ride-hailing is minimal, so metered taxis (agree on the fare first) or a rental car are how you get around; distances are short with easy parking at resorts and beaches, and remember driving is on the left, with under-25s sometimes facing a young-driver surcharge on rentals. The island is safe and relaxed but geared to upscale resort travel.
